Expecting twins is one of the most joyous and o-m-g experience all at once!! Finding out you are pregnant with a second set of twins is another ball game. The good news is – after experiencing it once, I knew what essential twin gear was necessary for us to survive the first year of twindom (again!). Here is my list of 8 items I could not live without specific to twins. For general baby essentials, find my post here.
Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard with Twins Bassinet
This pack n play with the bassinet feature is an item you can use from birth through toddler years. During the first couple months, both sets of twins slept in this bassinet set up in my room. It was very convenient for middle of the night wake ups. I love the two separate sleeping spaces so I did not have worries about one moving or rolling onto the other. Now, I still use it for short time spans of containment so I can take a bathroom break or prep a quick meal.
Twin Z Pillow
This nursing pillow has multiple uses! The most notable use is for nursing (although not my favorite). I used this pillow on the floor for bottle feedings. It is a perfect angle for the babies to lie back and allow me to hold their bottles and feed at the same time. The pillow can double for development because the babies can prop up for tummy time. It can also be used as a general lounger. I still find my bigs cuddled up in this pillow.
My Brest Friend Twin Nursing Pillow
This nursing pillow is my favorite for breastfeeding twins. It is firmer so it provides better support for latching and feeding through a full session comfortably. The pillow also comes with removable back support which I really liked. Sometimes I felt like I needed the extra support and other times I removed it. I attribute my breastfeeding success for the littles to this pillow!! I wish I had it the first time around.

TwinGroove Ultralight Double Stroller
This is the first of my 2 favorite double strollers. The seats recline back so it is suitable for newborns up to toddlers. It weighs only 26 pounds so it is easy for me to get in and out of the car. This stroller has two disconnected handles which allows it fold in a compact manner to fit into the trunk of a car. Most importantly – this stroller is Disney approved in terms of dimensions!
ZOE XL2 BEST Double Stroller & ZOE XL4 BEST Quad Stroller
This is my other favorite double stroller that also converts into a quad stroller!! This stroller is also suitable for newborns up to toddlers. It is super lightweight at only 19 pounds. This stroller has a bar handle which is easier for me to maneuver, but also takes up more trunk space. The sunshades can unzip to provide excellent coverage. The best part?? I took the quad stroller to Disney!! The quad stroller is within Disney specs, so the double is too!!
MoonyBaby Split Screen
After nearly 4 years of dual baby monitors, I can confidently recommend THIS monitor for twins or multiples. MoonyBaby has lasted the longest for me and has the best sound features for babies in the same room. While it can scan monitors and alert to whatever room needs attention, it can also be static on one monitor. This is a must have for me. Our twins always room together, so I can SEE both screens at the same time while only hearing one of the monitors (I only need to hear one since they are in the same room). Most monitors are silent during split screen and only alert when there is noise. I like hearing the monitor at all times, so this is the winner for me.

Summer Infant Pop ‘n Play Portable Playard
I have used this playard extensively and it has held up over the years. I use it indoors and rotate toys or turn it into a ball pit. It does not take up too much space, but it is big enough to not make the babies feel trapped. If I get really entertaining items in there, the bigs want to join the littles in here to play and that is a win-win for this mom and why it makes the cut for essential twin gear!
Weego Twin Baby Carrier
This was a must have in the early months for me. I was able to be hands free to cook, tend to my bigs, or just get outside and take a walk! This carrier can be used from 4 pounds (great for preemies) up to 33 pounds combined weight (almost to a year old for me since my kids hold up the bottom of the growth chart). It is adjustable as the babies grow and is available in a variety cute prints. It is completely machine washable and my favorite feature is the removable bibs. If a baby spits up, no need to wash the entire carrier – just the bib!
